About

Toshiko Sobin Ueda

I was born in Kyoto, Japan and came to the US in 1989. I started practicing the Urasenke Tradition of Tea in 1993 to understand more about my own culture and to bring me peace on busy days. Since then, tea has always has been a part of my life and I love sharing the beauty of this tradition with others.

If you are interested in the Way of Tea, please join me in creating a friendly tea community where people can exchange information and inspire each other.

My humble tearoom is named Wa-shin-an (和心庵). Wa-shin consists of two Chinese characters: wa (和), harmony & peace, and shin(心) mind. I look forward to welcoming you to Wa-shin-an and sharing a bowl of tea!
